Über uns
Das Informationszentrum (IC) des DAAD in Erbil wurde im Oktober 2011 eingerichtet. Unser Ziel ist es, den akademischen Austausch zwischen Deutschland und dem Irak zu fördern.
Hochschulen in Deutschland und in der ganzen Welt pflegen ein internationales Netzwerk an Kontakten zu Partnereinrichtungen. Mit seinen Förderprogrammen lädt der DAAD die deutschen Hochschulen ein, diese Netzwerke weiter auszubauen.
Der DAAD betrachtet das Ende der Förderzeit als Beginn einer langjährigen Beziehung mit seinen Alumni. Wir haben uns dabei zum Ziel gesetzt, den Kontakt der Alumni untereinander und mit dem DAAD zu fördern, sei es durch die Unterstützung bei der Gründung von Alumni Clubs, sei es durch vielfältige Förderprogramme und Maßnahmen.
𝐆𝐈𝐙 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐀𝐀𝐃 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟐–𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.
GIZ and DAAD successfully concluded a three-day training conference (Feb 12–14, 2026) in Erbil under the “Prospects for Peace Through Education in Iraq” In-Country Scholarship Programme, which is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Students and alumni from across Iraq joined sessions on Project Management and Public Speaking (Ms. Awaz Saeed Shawkat), Social Cohesion (Mr. Barbar Abdullah), and AI Efficiency & Responsible Use (Mr. Akam Nawzad Othman).
Through interactive trainings, group work, and networking, participants strengthened their skills, connections, and shared commitment to education, leadership, and peacebuilding.
The 𝐓𝐖𝐀𝐒–𝐃𝐅𝐆 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 Programme offers early-career researchers from the MENA region the opportunity to undertake 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 at a German research institution. Applications from all academic disciplines are welcome.
