Der Informationspunkt (IP) des DAAD in Erbil wurde im Oktober 2011 eingerichtet. Unser Ziel ist es, den akademischen Austausch zwischen Deutschland und dem Irak zu fördern.
Hochschulen in Deutschland und in der ganzen Welt pflegen ein internationales Netzwerk an Kontakten zu Partnereinrichtungen. Mit seinen Förderprogrammen lädt der DAAD die deutschen Hochschulen ein, diese Netzwerke weiter auszubauen.
Der DAAD betrachtet das Ende der Förderzeit als Beginn einer langjährigen Beziehung mit seinen Alumni. Wir haben uns dabei zum Ziel gesetzt, den Kontakt der Alumni untereinander und mit dem DAAD zu fördern, sei es durch die Unterstützung bei der Gründung von Alumni Clubs, sei es durch vielfältige Förderprogramme und Maßnahmen.

To make it easier for you here is the list in short:
• Online application form
• Full CV in tabular form (max. 3 pages)
• List of publications (max. 10 pages), if applicable
• Description of academic and personal reasons for your planned project in Germany (letter of motivation: 1-2 pages)
• A proposal, prepared and formulated by yourself, as well as a description of previous research work (max. 10 pages in total)
- In the case of 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 supervised by a university teacher (academic adviser):
• Schedule for planned research work (must be agreed with academic supervisor)
• Letter confirming supervision by the doctoral supervisor
- In the case of planned participation in a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 programme:
• Module plan (to be uploaded in the DAAD portal under 'schedule')
• Proof of existing contacts to the coordinator of the doctoral programme
• Letter of admission to a study programme; this may be submitted at a later date if it is not available at the time of application
• University degree certificate indicating final grade(s)
• Other documents which support your application (example: certificates of employment, proof of practical training/internships and voluntary commitment etc.)
• Valid identification document (passport, ID card, driver license or student identity card) including your photograph, full name, date of birth and country of origin
• All university certificates on all annual examinations with individual grade(s), incl. explanation of grading system.
• German or English translations of documents submitted in the national language
• School leaving certificate with all individual grades
• Proof of language abilities, not older than 2 years at the time of the application deadline (for English: TOEFL iBT min. 79, IELTS min. 6,5); TOEFL home edition or IELTS indicator (online test) are also accepted
• One recent reference from a university teacher which provides information about your qualifications (hand-signed, no digital or scanned signature)
